My name is Miss Carrie, I was born in 1851 to sharecroppers in the Louisiana territory. My dad would work the fields. And my mother would take care of the house and us seven kids. The last two was twin girls and I'm one of them.
I was the adventurous one, going to California to teach school in 1872 But when the stage was attacked by indians near Chloride Arizona I was struck by an arrow in the left leg. I was taken to the closest doctor which was in Chloride. When the local folks found out I was a teacher they asked me if I would stay and teach school here. They built me a new school house. After a year of teaching I met Wrangler and shortly after we met we got married. Now we have two children of our own. And I'm still teaching the kids of Chloride.
